What will you gain by joining our TEAM?
Develop new leadership skills. Get experience in your field. Perfect your communication and management skills. Receive hands-on experience teaching and coaching. Lead a group. Mediate an important conversation. Try something new. Make a lasting impact. Create strong bonds with staff and campers. Working at camp develops real, tangible skills that can be transferred to a wide array of fields; soft and hard skills that employers are looking for in an applicant.
These are all things that you can achieve by spending your summer working at Camp North Star. Our staff come from all over the United States and worldwide to use their abilities, share their talents and skills, and develop new ones. Being on staff at a sleepaway camp is an important job — families are entrusting you with the most important thing in their lives, their child. The experience can act as a springboard to many future professional opportunities.
Working at camp can also be an internship! Once you are hired as a staff member, we are happy to assist with any necessary paperwork to allow you to earn university internship credit for your summer experience. Depending on how camp is most relevant to your studies, you may be able to earn internship credits in education, digital media, sports management, counseling, coaching, and more.
